About us

Chinese School Almere started small. Ms Xie (谢老师) taught Chinese to her own children and a few children from the neighbourhood. More and more children joined, and parents rolled up their sleeves to help with activities, organisation and everything else a school needs.

That small group grew into the school it is today: lessons every Saturday at Buurtcentrum Het Kardoes, in classes from four-year-olds to secondary-school pupils, plus activities around the Chinese festivals. The school is a non-profit foundation (stichting) and still runs on the effort of its teachers and parents.
